Trail Runs

This is our opportunity to portray the scenic trail runs we are so fortunate to have on our doorstep. Such fall into two categories in close proximity to each other - each with its individual charactistics.

Lagan Towpath

The towpath begins at Stranmillis and travels on a relatively flat pathway to Union Bridge in Lisburn - a distance of 11 miles. Over the years this route has proved very useful for those athletes planning to run a marathon. In general however our routine club runs take place within this area and at much lower distance.

Belvoir Forest

Runs through Belvoir Forest have become favourites amongst club members for various reasons. On the one hand the trails are undulating providing a test of ability without being too demanding. On the other hand they possess a scenic quality second to none and of forest animals in their natural habitat.
